While his arms and legs were starting to look smaller, his belly seemed to grow larger by the day. Then he started experiencing health issues like constipation, heartburn and respiratory problems.
By the time Hector hit his heaviest weight at 300 pounds, he became the subject of taunting and teasing. People would point and stare and his friends made fun of his “beer belly.” However, Hector says he was never a big beer drinker.
Hector went to see a doctor, but was told nothing was really wrong.
He returned home thinking he was simply overweight and carried the weight mostly in his belly.
But as time passed, Hector noticed his stomach was hard to the touch. He knew he needed a second opinion, and thank goodness he got one.
This doctor was finally able to diagnosis Hector — and his surgeon had never seen anything like it before.
